Curriculum Vision:

To enable our students to learn, practice, and embed real-life skills in preparation for adulthood. Enabling students to extend their mathematical learning using both semi-formal and formal curriculum pathways to support curiosity, questioning, and enjoyment.

Curriculum Impact:

In preparation for adulthood our students will:

​

  • Be supported to develop their number skills and confidence from their individual starting points, and explore real-life maths through practical experiences.

​

  • Build familiarity and fluency through regular practice, revisiting key ideas in different contexts, and communicate their mathematical thinking through speech, signs, symbols, or practical actions.

​

  • Be encouraged to think, choose, and problem-solve in ways appropriate to their level of understanding, learning in a safe, respectful environment where effort and mistakes are valued as part of learning.

​

  • Develop positive attitudes to maths and recognise its importance in everyday life and the wider world, feeling pride in their growing independence and understanding.
