Curriculum lead:

Miss J Owusu

Curriculum Vision:

To enable students to communicate with confidence, connect with others, and make sense of the world around them. Through a rich, story-based approach, we aim to develop essential language and literacy skills that support learning, independence, and emotional well-being. These skills are built in meaningful contexts and designed to transfer into everyday life - empowering students to use literacy functionally as they move towards adulthood.

Curriculum Implementation:

Document to be Published in Nov 2025

Curriculum Impact:

In preparation for adulthood our students will:

  • Communicate clearly to express themselves and build positive relationships

  • Use functional literacy to manage everyday tasks and support independent living

  • Explore a range of lives and perspectives to foster empathy and understanding

  • See their own identities reflected in texts, promoting self-worth, reflection, and belonging
