Life After Belvue
Destinations/Leavers
At Belvue School, we recognise that the move from our Post 16 programme into further education is a significant and often emotional milestone for our pupils and their families. We are deeply committed to ensuring this transition is as smooth, supportive, and empowering as possible.
We work in close partnership with the Ealing Connexions Service and Ealing SENAS, using shared data and feedback to continually refine our transition planning and provide the highest standard of guidance and support each year. While many of our pupils have historically progressed to our partner college, the changing educational landscape has encouraged us to broaden our network of links with a variety of further education colleges, specialist provisions, and community services. These collaborations allow us to offer our pupils and families a wider range of choices and ensure they are fully informed and confident in planning their next steps.
Typically, our leavers progress to local FE colleges, where they can access one of two main pathways: the Inclusive Pathway, designed for pre-entry learners, or the Foundation Pathway, suited to pupils working at Entry Level 2 and above. The specific courses within these pathways vary by institution, allowing each pupil to find a programme that best supports their interests, abilities, and aspirations.
Therefore, at Belvue we encourage our pupils and families to gain understanding of the opportunities that are available by speaking to Connexions, researching college courses and internships, visiting college open days, attending our transition evening and making their views known during their annual review in order for the borough to make a consultation (or more than one) to the placement they are hoping to join.
At Belvue, we take pride in preparing our young people for life beyond school—ensuring every pupil leaves with the skills, confidence, and independence to thrive in their chosen next step.
