At Belvue School we feel strongly that the students should learn a range of skills that help them in later life. As part of this we run enterprise groups across the school.

Glass Making Company - 'Smashing Glass'​

 

The older students for over the last decade have ran a company that makes and sells fused glass which we are immensely proud of. The company is called Smashing Glass. Post 16 students spend a year participating in an Enterprise project which is based at Open Ealing Arts centre in Ealing Broadway. Here they learn to design and make fused and applique glass designs to an excellent standard. They will then take these artefacts to sales around the borough to sell developing their skills at speaking with the public, selling the project and managing money. The group can also take on commissions including larger pieces for  specific spaces. They learn to work together as a team both as artists and stall managers, helping and supporting each other as they make and sell. This money is used to purchase more coloured glass with which to make more glass designs with.
