Belvue School is committed to upholding the highest possible safeguarding standards and follows safe recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults. All new appointments will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. All contractors and visitors to the school must present a copy of their DBS certificate and Photo ID to the school upon arrival of their first visit in order to be added to the school's central record(SCR). Failure to do so will mean that individual will need to be escorted throughout their entire visit.
Agencies and companies engaged by the school must provide a declaration to the school that they follow safer recruitment practices.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Sana Bhopal, Deputy Head.
The Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Shelagh O'Shea Headteacher, Georgia Russell Assistant Head Year 7, Denis O'Brien Family Worker and Elizabeth Niles Family Worker.
The Lead Governor for Safeguarding is Allison Blair.
The school safeguarding policies can be found in the School's policies section of the website. Staff must implement the school safeguarding policy and failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.

All staff have read the Keeping Children Safe in Education: Part 1 Guidance September 2022 and the last whole school safeguarding training took place in September 2022.
